Why do the starting ayahs on some pages differ?

The starting and ending ayahs of pages can be different based on:

  • Different publishers
  • Different print years (even from the same publisher)
  • Different scripts (Uthmanic or Indopak)
  • Number of lines per page (some mushafs have 13, 15, or 16 lines)

For example, in King Fahd Quran Complex prints:

  • 1405 Hijri Classic Madani Mushaf: Page 121 starts from Surah Al-Ma’idah ayah 77
  • 1440 Hijri Madani Mushaf: Page 121 starts from Surah Al-Ma’idah ayah 78

You can access both of them in mushaf reading mode. While for the normal reading mode with translations, we are currently using the one based on classic Madani mushaf.

In sha Allah, we will explore ways to improve this in the future for a better user experience.

Important: These differences are only about page layout. The Quran text, its recitation, and meanings remain exactly the same.
