In this email, you’ll find the key updates about our apps and a few other highlights that have been accomplished in the first half of 2024.

With Allah’s permission, we’ve reached 4.8 million users worldwide during this period. They have spent an average of 18.5 minutes each week using our apps to better understand Islam and connect with Allah.

Product Updates

Quran App

• Added 5 new tafsirs: Tafsir as-Sa’di in Indonesian, Farsi, Turkish, Malayalam Tafsir Amani, French Tafsir Ibn Kathir.
• Added French Word by word translation and Roman Urdu translation.
• Made improvements in a lot of places and squashed several bugs.
• Quran app is released on Linux. Get the app here
• Behind the scenes, we are working hard on developing the Quran app for iOS from the ground up to provide a better user experience. We are halfway through the process and hope to release an iOS update by Q4, in sha Allah.
• We interviewed many users for our Quran app from January to June, which helped us extract many valuable insights that are often overlooked. If you’re interested in sharing your experience and feedback directly with us, you can book a user interview session from this link.

Hadith App

• Added Muslim scholars’ data. You’ll get it under the menu.

Introduced ‘Explore By Topics’ to find many hadith related to a topic.

Seerah App

• Added dark mode to enhance readability.

Ramadan Planner

We designed and published our first Ramadan planner this year. People loved it so much and we received positive feedback alhamdulillah. We hope to release one for next Ramadan as well.

GreenCon Hackathon 2024

We organised the GreenCon Hackathon this year for the second time. The theme for the hackathon was: “Seerah Navigator”.

Seven teams participated in this competition and every team brought their own solutions to solve Barirah’s problem in their own way. Read more about it in the blog.
